Opus 216

Violinist Ariel Clayton Karas and bassist Joel Negus of Cleveland-based ensemble OPUS 216 return for their fourth year of acoustic-classical stylings of Beatles tunes for Beatlefest. Founded by violinist Ariel Clayton Karas in 2012, OPUS 216 and its members perform more than 150 public and private events yearly and collaborate regularly with northeast Ohio institutions on creative projects, including partnerships with the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Clinic, The Transformer Station, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Tri-C Jazz Fest, and others. The music of Ms. Clayton Karas features on the soundtrack to the acclaimed 2015 documentary, Violins of Hope, narrated by Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody, and she records frequently as a session musician for local performing artists and producers. As director of Classical Revolution Cleveland, Ariel Clayton Karas and colleagues perform free public performances of classical music monthly throughout Cleveland and have been showcased on local NPR and classical music radio affiliates.
